Two Wall Street firms are accused of a huge tax-shelter fraud. It seemed like the perfect deal for show business personalities and other wealthy investors. Two Wall Street firms promised to put their money into safe, high-yielding Government securities. Then they said that the brokerage houses, they would manage the accounts so that customers would get large income tax deductions. Among the 88 investors enticed into laying out at least $600,000 apiece in cash and notes to one of the firms were Actor Sidney Poitier, Television Producer Norman Lear and Composer Henry Mancini. In the end it was all a big scam, about 130 million worth of scam. I am sure that there is going to be some serious financial reporting going on from now on.

I don’t know if anyone out there has this new toy by mac yet but if not you have to at the very least check it out. The thing is known for being lighter than air and it practically is. It doesn’t have a lot of features and it could use a little laptop memory to beef it up but for what you get its not bad.

There is a big trend of celebrities having babies right now. I mean a couple of years ago it was a big deal to adopt a foreign orphan but apparently natural birth is back in. Not sure what the deal is but I am happy that all these celebrities babies are being born. Course there is going to be a big influx of crib bedding and other baby supplies which is always good for the economy though.

I know this happened a little while back but I don’t recall taking the time to write something about it. George Carlin was a foul mouth crazy comedian who in his own right changed the face of comedy in his era. He is not one of my favorite comedians or even in my top ten but he does deserve the respect of the comedy world. He suffered from Chronic Congestive Heart Failure and it was not a big surprise when he actually passed. Hate to see him go and I know he will be missed in the comedy world.

Anyways, Minnie Driver is now a mommy!

She gave birth to a healthy little baby boy. His name is Henry Story Driver. He weighed 9lbs 12 oz. Oh my gosh is that a big baby or what!!! He was born in Los Angeles on Friday.

The daddy is still unknown, but apparently he is English. I dont think we will ever know really, but anyways, all I have to say to her is….
