He really is a great movie star! Robert De Niro is by far one of my favorites. Anyways, he was honored in Berlin by the Golden Camera Lifetime Achievement Award
Its a popular German magazine that sponsors the awards. I read that other actors/actresses have been given this award. The recipients where George Clooney, Jodi Foster Steven Spielberg and Cate Blanchett.
I say congrats to Robert De Niro, he truly deserves it and then some.
Celebrity addictions are getting more and more common lately and in the wake of the Heath Ledger tragedy I think it is time to shed some light on it all. Something so tragic that could simply be avoided by finding a good drug treatment program a short time back. A move that could have saved his life. The thing is that people need to realize that there are a whole lot of places out there that can help. There are places that are specifically designed for helping with certain addictions and there are even places designed for treating specific genders so they know how to help you exactly as that area is their specialty. If you are a woman who struggles with alcohol then look for a alcohol treatment center for women and go there. It really is that simple but it all starts with a conscious decision to want to change.
The death of our most beloved actor Heath Ledger was an accidental mixture of prescriptions drugs. New York City’s Chief Medical Examiner has concluded that it was also an accident. He died of acute intoxication by combined effects of, (and let me tell you there is a lot) Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, Diazepam, Tmeazepam, Alprazolam and Doxylamine.
Basically, heĀ accidentally put into his body medications that didn’t work together that caused his body to slowly stop working. As told by the medical examiner, “we have concluded that the manner of death is accident, resulting from the abuse of prescription medications.”
Heath was using a painkiller, vicodin anxiety /sleeplessness pills and sedating antihistamines for sleeping. I just wonder why he felt he had to take so many and why the doctors gave him all of them knowing it would be possible for an overdose.
I hope that the family is doing better knowing that he didn’t die on purpose but rather accidental. I feel better knowing that he accidentally died and didn’t commit suicide.
I will make sure to update with more Heath Ledger news.
